Waiting on the Lord

been a while since I posted...lots going on.
We have gotten somewhat settled into the rental house and started the search for a store front.  Found a nice location, signed a lease the end of July and have been working on the retail space and the lab space of the building.  Been a busy couple weeks!  When I make the list of the 'done' list, it's amazing!
July 28, signed lease
July 29, began cleaning out the building and making plans
August 2, began painting outside, inside retail space, changing out the outdated 4' fluorescent lamp fixtures.
August 8, purchased laminate flooring to cover the carpet in the retail space
August 9, finished the outside decorative painting, started the inside decorative painting on the checkout counter. (interrupted this painting to begin flooring install)
August 13, finished installing flooring, erected the wall to close off the retail space
August 14....taking a break for a day of fishing (DH), while I clean the lab space and get ready to move the remaining lab inventory/materials to the store
We are waiting for inspections from the City, the Fire Dept and the Insurance carrier.  Prayers for passing these inspections are being prayed every day that goes by.
The local bank is working on a quote for providing Merchant Services for opening/running the store.
A local sign company is preparing a sign and will be doing our brochure/business cards.
We aim to use all local as much as possible.  Keeps the money in the area!
We love this area and can see it as our long term home...our final location until we pass from this world or the rapture, whichever comes first!
I say all this to refer back to my posting title...Waiting on the Lord...we have been doing just that, and because we have, all the pieces are falling into place, just in the right time...the Lord's timing, and we haven't tried to run out in front of Him...we are taking His Hand and going at His pace!
Amen!

On the Right Path!

After much prayer, work, planning, reviewing, we finally are taking the first steps on the path to our new life.
We decided to go the route of renting a house in our dream location.  That will put us there, no longer a 3 hour ride!
Everything started happening with the closure of doing 2014's taxes.  We rec'd our refund from Uncle Sam within 2 weeks.  And the state refund was rec'd a week after that.  The last item left within our current state...2013 tax refund was being held up for 'issues'...well, after much prayer and chats with the Lord, we got our 2013 tax refund.  With all these funds now available, we went looking for a rental house.  The first house....the only house...we looked at, fit our needs exactly!  It would be available for move-in on the same date as we were desiring to move off the property!
We went through the credit process, the lease process...smooth sailing.  The lease agent said that it was the quickest leasing she had ever done.  Upon signing the lease, we went by the utilities offices...electric and water/sewer/trash....applied/paid deposit....now we are ready.
We have 2 weeks to get the moving figured out.  The utility trailer is full...with room remaining for the bedroom and the van is packed/to be packed with the kitchen/remaining kitchen items.
Moving on a Monday, get the keys...and get the bed set up and the kitchen set up....then to unload the trailer with the help of a couple friends of our one friend in the area!
then to return on Wed to refill the utility trailer with the remaining items from the lab and tool shed.
It might take one more trip for the outdoor equipment, but that's a wait and see.
Thank you Lord.....
wait upon the Lord and you will walk in the perfect will of the Lord our Father!
Amen!

Another month...Tax month!

made it through another year of getting the taxes done!
a month of living in restricted quarters in the lab, going along fine, but really looking for the light at the end of this particular journey.
We heard back from the bank.  Now bear in mind that the initial building that we were looking at was a 'bank-owned' property, so we approached that bank with the loan being a part of the offer to buy process.  once we had an engineer go through the building, the $ we offered would have bought the building but we would have to have a 'bottomless' purse just to get it up to code, much less do the extras that we would like to do...so we withdrew our offer.  at that point, I knew in my heart that the bank would find some means (however really legal it was) to turn us down for a loan.  And so it was!
No problem, those who 'mess with' God's children will have this brought back to them.
Besides with all that's going on at the house with the new family, we are much needed here for the immediate future.
It might be that we stay here until they are able to purchase the house, then we will have the $ to take the next step in our journey of being in the Will of God and living our lives according to His Plans.
One must be content in the place you are put until it is time to move on.
Don't get me wrong, I do have moments of doubt and self-pity...but writing this out really puts things into perspective....it could be worse, but what really is so bad about our current situation?  we have a dry house, food on the table, gas in the car, orders coming in for our business, clothes on our back and the bills are paid.  with a smaller house (LOL!) to take care of, I'm able to work on my painting and knitting again.  As DH has said, we packed the utility trailer such that you do have access to your creative outlets, unpack and work on them, there's no better time than the present.
So I spend my weekly days having specific time with our Lord, then alittle creative time in the mornings and then afternoons, part time home-based work for a local company.  Evenings are spent with a cup of coffee and DH, reflecting on the day, before getting out the knitting to relax the mind.
Taxes done...now on to reorganizing all our paperwork.  thinking about doing the scan/computer store/shred...hmmm, is this the way to go?...save everything on an exterior hard drive instead of the C Drive of the computer....have to mull that idea over and chat with my computer guy for his opinion.
oh, well, enough for the moment, get a little more done on the packing boxes and then some painting time!
Amen!

3 weeks later!

In 3 weeks time we have:
rented our house through a property management company
moved into 2 rooms of our lab facility
started the loan process with a local bank
the tenant family moved in last week...nice to have LIFE of the property...in the form of kids-babies-dogs-goats, with chickens to come soon!  Already they have adopted us as grandparents!  Lovely!
Next on the agenda:
get the 'tiny house' organized for the short term
hear back from the bank
determine where we are going to set up a new home and new shop
plan a vacation...the first in 5 years!
ALL cloaked under the Will of God, our Father.
Oh Lord....help us as we seek to follow Your Lead and Your Desires for us....we want to be in the Perfect Will of You!
Amen!

Time flies....a lot when you're busy!

Hard to believe but it's been a month since I last posted.  and what a month it has been.  The couple from Florida are now going to lease the house until they can qualify for a mortgage...while we are looking at purchasing a building in a nearby town, with a 'work & live' option available with some work to the place.
going through all the hoops/whistles/bells for purchase offer/loan offer/building inspections-capabilities....all with a deadline of April 15th.  in the meantime, we are going to live in the old trailer and motor home until we have the building ready!
Our Lord has been working very hard, getting everything in alignment for us to make this step into our new life.  House/Loan/Building/Moving...all to occur within 90 days...wow, to get a shop open before the summer really kicks in and the tourists make stops off I-95 for a quick visit to town!?!
Lord, give us the strength to get the things we need to get done each day...Keep us safe with all the moving/building/setting up...
Amen!

Birthday Eve....

another year is almost at an end for me.  Birthday tomorrow.
a very nice couple came by the house today, looked everything over, seemed to like what they saw, said they would chat over things and give us a call....hmmm.  maybe?
they are our age and for once during the conversation, DH didn't go into his...this is a working farm property and you should be able to work it as such...conversation.  I'm proud of him, have been telling him that we should be concerned about what new owners want to do with the property, it will be theirs....no longer ours or our concern.  we are making headway in letting go of that thought, there have been prospective buyers in the past that DH has told them that they were too old and this place wasn't for them....he didn't say anything along those lines today...i'm happy!
IF he is truly ready to let go, then the new owners can and should be anyone who comes here with check in hand to buy the place.  Not someone who meets his criteria....finally I think he is getting it.
now on to the birthday!  not sure, but I have been getting the unction that now is the time...instead of the "I'll start on Monday" routine, I'm starting in the morning.
Begin the day with dry body brushing, walk for a mile or so, shower, then start the daily routine of morning devotion/breakfast/DEP work/craft work/lab work/normal day. and then a dry brushing before bed.  oh, and plenty of green tea/water/detox tea.  haven't had a soft drink in a couple weeks, now I really could go for a Pepsi...but I'll wait!...and speaking of tea, I have one that has finished steeping, let's go get it...
have a great afternoon!

The End of the First Month of the New Year

Here we are almost at the end of January.  The year so far...we got an offer on the house, but it was an offer that was for a lease to buy option...we worked on it for a few weeks, trying to come to some sort of an agreement, but nothing could be worked out.  Any $ would have to be put into an escrow account, which did us no good.  A complete sale would be best for us...then we could leave here, start our new life with a new house and no looking back, or any ties remaining to the property.
We are waiting for the Lord to bring us the right buyer, until then we work towards being ever the more ready to leave.
I've been making jewelry, mostly bracelets, but not doing any sales at the Flea Market, as every weekend has been a rain soak day! so I'm making for the day we open a shop.
we did make the trip to SC, got our sales license with the state...had a day with the Mid-Winter SOS weekend.  checked out several locations....
we feel the unction that we are to
Sale the house...a complete/final sale
Find a smaller house, with a garage in NMB
open a boutique in the EUTS market
begin our new life with a new home, decorated slowly with our joint decisions
be available for some vacation time with the motor home
That's our prayer and we are sticking to it!
DH had a good birthday....I surprised him with 3 gift cards...Applebees, Olive Garden, Red Lobster!
so he is a happy camper!
